Hypnotic regression is pretty amazing on a number of levels. No longer the purview of “out there” spiritualists, other-life regression has gone totally mainstream. Further, it offers some surprising benefits that just aren’t achieved as easily any other way. Here’s a short list of what a regression session might offer you:
- First, you get a chance to see things that you never suspected you would. Be honest: Who really goes into a session imagining they would be presented a full-senses video of the hard life of a sailor, or of a school teacher in an Old West settlement, or a wealthy man who didn’t survive WWII. Yet those are the kind of living color images that happen in virtually every regression. No, it’s not Cleopatra or the Dalai Lama, but it’s most interesting because you know it’s you. You can feel it. You’re experiencing it from the inside out. And that’s a poignant understanding.
- It’s a highly efficient way to quickly get to the root of a lot of issues. Regression scenes are presented in context. By that I mean by setting the intention before you are regressed, the lives that are presented will always relate in some what to that intention. One of my clients had a regression to a very happy lifetime, one that seemed almost problem-free. This was confusing at first, until it was explained that the purpose of that life was simply to show that not all lives were as difficult as the one the client was currently experiencing, which made a big impression on the her. In this case, the client had wondered why this life was so difficult. Another client re-experienced a life that allowed her to release some of the concerns she had surrounding being single. This client had mildly wondered—more out of curiosity than anything—if she would find another partner.
- It’s graceful. There’s no shaming in hypnosis, no should have’s. Everything starts in the moment with the assumption that what was done, was done with purpose, even if that purpose no longer serves. And even though regression is experienced first-person, it also is delivered in a larger context than it was when you were actually living it in the flesh. So there’s a combination of both distance and proximity that serves to give you the most valuable information.
- There’s often a larger “pot of gold” at the end than you expect. In all regressions, I end the session asking the client’s Higher Self to clarify why that life was shown. The answers range from the simplest (“To show not all lives are difficult.”) to sometimes ones that push the boundaries of one’s belief (“To remind you that you came from a different planet in the universe, and are inhabiting this physical life on Earth in order to…”). Each reason is its own pot of gold for the client, and they often come away almost shaking their heads in surprise at how separate from the loving embrace of the universe they had been feeling, and how much more connected they now felt.
There are many reasons to undergo hypnosis: transforming habits and behaviors that no longer serve, finding peace and relaxation from anxieties, even for the purpose of exploring the subconscious recesses of your being. And regression isn’t the only type of session that can improve your existence; all of it can be life-changing and positive…and fun! One emerges from the hypnotic state relaxed, more comfortable with themselves, more accepting in general. And pretty much always far more informed about their purpose in this lifetime.
In our frenzied world, a hypnosis session can resettle your psyche and boost your mood. It can move you to allow healing and mitigate pain. It can redirect your subconscious to more positive behaviors. And it can fill you with the understanding that we really are all in it together.
